Planet Vampa is a desolate, hostile planetoid where Paragus and his infant son Broly were stranded after King Vegeta exiled Broly in fear of the child's abnormal power level. The planet is inhabited by enormous insectoid predators and offers virtually no resources for sustaining life. Paragus and Broly survived there for over forty years, with Broly bonding with one of the planet's creatures — a small beast he named Ba — before Cheelai and Lemo discovered them and brought them aboard Frieza's ship, setting the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly in motion.
